I’m convinced that there’s a very brief moment, when one feels that first bit of caffeine coursing through their veins, that anything in the universe is possible.
Weekly recaps. Played tennis for the first time last Sunday. New side quest unlocked, I’ll be doing it again. Developed a nasty toothache that needs attention. Feel free to Zelle me for the upcoming dentist bill. Couple beers, couple smokes, couple laughs. Photography. Have to check the filter in the furnace. Carina’s in Vegas (happy birthday Emily).
Excerpt from the book I finished this week. Recursion, by Blake Crouch.
It’s incredibly important to be comfortable with yourself. I am reminded of how much I enjoy my solitude. How rewarding it can be to be self sufficient when no one’s looking, and not look to anyone to fill a void. To love yourself is to spend a day in silence and be okay with the company, to be in a deprivation tank of one’s own life without drowning in it, remaining fluid and capable of embracing the absurdities of life. I wish that for everyone, especially those who struggle with it.
This coming week brings Thanksgiving. I do not align myself with American history but I do take the time to express gratitude. Towards friends, family, good health. To the lightness of being, the sweet fragrance a flower has to offer. To the ability to expand someone’s perspective, to make someone laugh. To conversation. To love and making love. To the journey.
